She is best known for her parts in Spamalot's West End revival, the Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods, as well as The Wizard of Oz (as the Wicked Witch of the West). Her work has garnered her three Olivier Award nominations. In 2015, she joined the team of the fifth season of Game of Thrones. HBO series Game of Thrones as Septa Unella as well as appearing as an ensemble player in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables and 2018 British psychological thriller Winter Ridge in a primary role. Waddingham has been nominated in the Golden Globe Awards. Since 2020, she has been playing the character of Rebecca Welton in the Apple TV+ comedy show Ted Lasso and has received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and the Critics Choice Television Award for the Best Supporting Actress in the category of Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022
