Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor, speaker, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, television host, and author. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the company to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months, she exited from the company. Corcoran was one of the first Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals as of February of 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment to pay for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a skilled worker throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. At times, the family depended on free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who was drunk often and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled with her education and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran was educated at a Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite having failed several classes during her first year.
